Blepharoplasty – Eyelid Rejuvenation

Excess skin, muscle or fat in the upper eyelid causes heaviness, tiredness or obstruction of vision. If this is you, an upper eyelid blepharoplasty may help.

Excess skin, muscle or fat causes bulging and hollows in the lower eyelid appear as puffiness or bags accentuated under different lighting conditions. If this is you, a lower eyelid blepharoplasty may help.

Before and after blepharoplasty performed by Dr Anthony Maloof - Oculoplastic surgeon Sydney

We offer a very special type of surgery that removes excess skin and bulging fat as well as tightening your droopy eyelid to achieve an aesthetically pleasing result. Sometimes this is done through the skin and sometimes from the inside of the eyelid.

Blepharoplasty is carried out under local or general anaesthetic with sedation and you can go home a few hours after surgery.

After your surgery, a small dressing over the eyelid can be removed day 1. Your vision will not be obscured and you can shower and wet the wound from the first day. In most cases bruising settles by 2 weeks with swelling taking a little longer. Stitches are removed at days 5 – 7 and most people return to work after 2 weeks.
